St. Patrick’s  Parish Wicklow islocated in the heart of the Garden County. Wicklow is an old historic parish tracing its origins back to St. Patrick, who with his companion Mantan , landed on a beach not far from St. Patrick’s church. The Celtic name of the district was Kilmantan, or the church of Mantan who carried on the mission of Patrick to bring the faith to Wicklow.  The Parish of Wicklow has at present an area of 6,300 acres, encompasses 30 townlands, and as well as the Parish church of St. Patrick also has a chapel of ease St. Joseph’s Rathnew.  The Parish is located just off the N11 and looks out onto the beautiful vista of Wicklow Bay.
